The Sanctuary
Imagine a Yoga studio where there are always options–a space where you are welcomed by friendly faces with open arms and encouraged to show up just as you are, no matter how you’re feeling or what you can do. A space without competition or pressure, where the true intention and purpose of Yoga is prioritized and celebrated…
The Sanctuary is a monthly virtual Yoga membership
Here, you’ll be nurtured and supported to grow and expand at your own pace. It’s a refuge from the harsh pressures, judgments, and criticisms of a world steeped in diet/fitness culture, ableism, and anti-fat bias.
We offer eight LIVE monthly classes plus a monthly community session. Your participation is entirely up to you—no requirements and no expectations. We’ll honor and prioritize all of your many layers: the physical, energetic, mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual bodies while practicing Yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and conscious relaxation.

We meet alternating between Tuesdays and Thursdays each week:
Tuesdays, 6:15-7:15pm CT - Dynamic Yoga (2 classes/month)
Thursdays, 7:30-8:30pm CT - Restorative Yoga and/or Gentle Yoga (2 classes/month)
Wednesdays at 6:30-7:15am CT - Vigorous Yoga (4 classes/month)
You’ll receive an email by the first of each month with the month’s schedule. All classes are recorded and available for about two months.
1 Community Session per Month (free to all - invite your friends!)
One Sunday each month we’ll meet from 11am-12:30pm CT, for a community session to explore yoga philosophy. This is an opportunity for us to connect with each other about what’s going on in our lives and how we can apply yoga philosophy principles to bring greater peace, joy, and ease to our day to day lives.
Yoga Nidra Recordings
Choose from several different Yoga Nidra recordings and listen to them whenever you want!
The Introductory Yoga Video Series
You’ll have access to 19 instructional videos, each of which goes over one or more aspects of the style of Hatha Yoga that I teach and several options for how to do each asana (posture). You can revisit these videos at any time while you’re a member if you need a quick refresher on something or if you want to practice on your own.
Not ready to commit to a monthly membership? You can drop in to any class for $20/class. Fill out the form above and I’ll send you the link!
The Classes:
All classes begin with a short initial relaxation and some sort of pranayama (breathing exercises). All classes end with at least 5 minutes of savasana (final relaxation).
Gentle: This class is centered around breathing, stretching, and relaxing. We will spend most of the class on the floor, either seated or lying down.
Dynamic: In this class we begin with sun salutations (multiple versions are offered for folks with different abilities, including seated or standing with a chair) to warm up. We then move on to a series of asanas (postures) with the emphasis on strengthening, stretching, and moving prana (energy). Multiple options are consistently offered throughout, based on the needs of the students.
Restorative: This is a practice where props are used to support yourself in postures so you can comfortably relax in them for an extended period of time. This practice allows for deep relaxation and nervous system regulation, which can lead to many benefits for mental and physical wellbeing.
Vigorous: This forty-five minute class will get your blood flowing first thing in the morning to energize you for your day. This is a faster moving class for those who want to work up a sweat. We’ll begin with sun salutations (all versions are welcome, but only the “traditional” sun salutations will be modeled), and continue with a series of asanas to stretch and strengthen the whole body, while moving prana (energy). Due to the faster nature of the class, students should be comfortable modifying the practice based on their own needs independently.
Yoga Nidra (recordings only): Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep” and is a guided, deep relaxation practice that directs the participant’s consciousness to different aspects of their being, guiding them towards a state of inner bliss and contentment. This practice can be done lying down or sitting and no movement is involved. Yoga Nidra is a surprisingly powerful practice and can bring benefits to all, including those who suffer from sleep deprivation, trauma, anxiety, or depression (to any degree).
A place to move, grow, and be, according to your ability, needs, and desires.

FAQ
-
I teach a style of Hatha Yoga that is largely informed by the Sivananda sequence. This style begins with pranayama (breathing exercises) and sun salutations and is followed by a set of 12 asanas (postures). Each of the asanas are extremely adaptable and can be done in many different ways. Although I don’t usually teach all 12 asanas in a given class, I typically do follow some version of it when I teach.
